American Oak Extract is a natural flavoring made with a heavy toasted American Oak tree bark that is used for crafting beverages, enhancing tea and culinary use. American oak is twice as dense as French Oak, carrying greater spice and wood sugar compounds that offer a more obvious stronger flavoring.
Tannins in oak bark have been shown to inhibit the release of inflammatory compounds. They may also exhibit antibacterial properties by binding with proteins involved in bacterial growth.
