American Oak: Quercus Alba is the type of white oak most grown in the United States. It is grown mainly in the eastern states, Florida, as well as California.
American Oak Extract is a natural flavoring made with a heavy toasted American Oak tree bark that is used for crafting beverages, enhancing tea and culinary use. American oak is twice as dense as French Oak, carrying greater spice and wood sugar compounds that offer a more obvious stronger flavoring.
Tannins in oak bark have been shown to inhibit the release of inflammatory compounds. They may also exhibit antibacterial properties by binding with proteins involved in bacterial growth. The antioxidant activity of Oak compounds is thought to boost heart and liver health and possibly offer anticancer effects.
Made without additives and is a pure concentrate that is vegan and gluten free.
Our Oak Extracts are NOT standardized and each bottle could taste slightly different from the next batch. The natural flavoring is at the mercy of mother nature and the individual batch of Oak bark that is used.
