Tincture - Ginkgo biloba

For 1000's of years, leaves from the Ginkgo biloba tree have been a common treatment in Chinese medicine. Many people use this herb with the belief that they will improve memory and sharpen thinking.

Ginkgo leaf is often taken by mouth for memory disorders including Alzheimer's disease.  It is also used for conditions that seem to be due to reduced blood flow in the brain, especially in older people. These conditions include memory loss, headache, ringing in the ears, vertigo, dizziness, difficulty concentrating, mood disturbances, and hearing disorders. Some people use it for other problems related to poor blood flow in the body, including leg pain when walking.

Contradictions - Ginkgo leaf tincture is considered safe for most people when taken by mouth in appropriate doses. It could cause some minor side effects such as stomach upset, headache, dizziness, constipation, forceful heartbeat, and allergic skin reactions if you are sensitive to it or take too much. We have been offering our tincture for many years without any side effects when used as recommended.

There is some concern that ginkgo leaf extract might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding. Ginkgo thins the blood and decreases its ability to form clots. Do not use Ginkgo if you are pregnant, going into surgery or using blood thinners.

It is recommended to use one full dropper full in an 8 oz beverage of choice once a day. See how your body reacts with self monitoring and you may increase to twice daily if needed.
