This is a propriety blend of two useful organically grown herbs that can be used daily for lung support.
Both Mullein (Verbascum thapsus L.) and Chickweed (Stellaria media) are gentle cooling herbs that soothe, calm inflammation and protect.
The German Commission E recognizes mullein, the main ingredient, for treating the respiratory and lungs. Mullein is a component of many prepared medicinal teas and herbal remedies, particularly respiratory teas and tinctures.
Mullein leaf helps sooth the lungs and calm coughs. It is a mild relaxant to the lungs and also a mild demulcent. It soothes inflammation and dryness. Herbalists turn to Mullein to aid cough, COPD, asthma & allergies. Some reports additionally show that it could help with migraines and joint pain.
Contradictions - Even though this blend is made with gentle cooling herbs, it is not to be used if pregnant or nursing. Please take the time to do your own research for drug interactions and safety. Both herbs are considered and reported as "GRAS". Do NOT use this particular tincture topically. The concentration may cause severe rash on delicate skin and is to only be diluted in a beverage. It is not to be applied to ear canal. Mullein "oil" is a different preparation than a tincture.
This tincture can be combined with other tinctures such as turmeric and ginger root and can be used continually in your daily routine.
Dosage - 30 to 60 "drops" , 1 to 3 times per day in a beverage. One full dropper full equals 30 drops when plunged correctly with bulb attached to top of glass dropper. Always use the least amount and wait a few days to see how your body reacts. You may only need the minimal amount. If no change after 3 days, then you may increase your dose gradually to test again until you find the amount that works best for you, without exceeding the maximum dose.
A tincture is a concentrated liquid extract form of a medicinal herb to be taken in a beverage for it's healing properties. Do not use sublingual. It is extracted over several weeks in a gluten free alcohol menstruum.
